Grow Cook Share Recipes

Cook with fresh produce every day.

Did you know that half of the adult population do not eat the recommended daily intake of fruit and vegetables? The scales are also tipped with occasional foods making up more than one-third of our energy needs each day.

If you don’t have access to vegetables on a regular basis or the knowledge on what to do with them, it is easy to fill up on simple meals that are low in nutrients; regularly going for stomach fillers such as bread with spreads, processed and packaged pies, quiches, hot dogs, two minute noodles or pasta with a limited sauce option or when finances allow it reaching for a takeaway. Takeaway is an expensive option and often high in saturated fats, added sugars, added salt and laden with kilojoules.

The Grow Cook Share Cooking Clubs aim to provide participants with basic kitchen and food skills and the confidence and inspiration to cook often with fresh, seasonal produce for themselves and their families. Seasonal produce is at its peak flavour, has a low environmental impact and is often at its lowest price.

Grow Cook Share recipes offer simple and nutritious ideas for people to expand their intake of a wider variety of food and a provide cheaper option to resorting to takeaway or processed packaged foods.

The Grow Cook Share recipe collection includes quick, easy recipes for healthier meals and snacks, such as:
