Bendigo Toyota will hand over a cheque for more than $35,000 to Bendigo Foodshare today.
The local dealership held a Golf Day at Belvoir Park Golf Course in December boasting 36 teams, 31 of them from within the local region, and held a Pre-Christmas raffle to help raise the funds.
Bendigo Toyota Marketing Manager Gabrielle Richards said the success of their Golf Day and Christmas Raffle shows their commitment to supporting the important work of Bendigo Foodshare.
“Bendigo Toyota has proudly sponsored Bendigo Foodshare for a number of years now. We think the work the crew and volunteers do to feed more than 13,000 people in our region each week is nothing short of incredible,” she said
Dealer Principal Adam Ski echoed the statements. “This year’s fundraising was even more important given the impact of the flooding throughout the region, and the increased demand it placed on organisations which Foodshare supply,” he said.
Bendigo Foodshare CEO Michelle Murphy said the fundraising event was particularly helpful as the cost of living continues to rise and put pressure on thousands living in central Victoria.
“As a non-for-profit that is very resource stretched, it’s absolutely amazing to have an event that’s run and organised for our benefit, by somebody else,” Mrs Murphy said.
“Bendigo Toyota have been long-time supporters of Bendigo Foodshare, and their partnership and contribution continues to grow each year to support our vital service.” she said.
Bendigo Toyota Marketing Manager Gabrielle Richards said the fundraising efforts couldn’t be achieved without the contributions of so many throughout the local region.
“We couldn’t reach this target without the generosity of a number of local businesses who get on board and support us. We had 31 teams from businesses in Bendigo play in the golf day, and more than 35 provide donations for the raffle. The Belvoir Park Golf Club had a number of volunteers on the day support us as well as the Bendigo Sandhurst Rotary Club who jumped at the chance to be involved again. We are endlessly grateful for their support, and this result is not possible without them.”
