Felicia Binks brings more than 20 years’ experience in the mining industry to her role on the Bendigo Foodshare Board, along with a strong commitment to giving back to the community she’s called home for two decades.

Currently Director of Environment & Sustainability – Australia at Agnico Eagle, Felicia is based in Bendigo and is known as a leader and mentor in her field, particularly for women working in mining. She joined the Bendigo Foodshare Board in late 2024 and sits on the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee, where her background in strategy, risk management and stakeholder engagement is a valuable asset.

Her connection to Bendigo Foodshare began in 2019 when she was involved in early discussions around plans for a new warehouse. That first experience left a strong impression.

“After meeting the employees and volunteers and learning about the incredible work they do to support our local and regional community, I knew this was a not-for-profit I could feel proud to be part of,” she says.

Felicia says the decision to join the Board came from a desire to contribute personally beyond her professional work. “After living and working in the region for 20 years, I felt it was time to give back. The goal of providing access to healthy, affordable food really resonated with me.”

She’s quickly found the experience to be a rewarding one. “Everyone has been so open and friendly – it’s a wonderful atmosphere to be part of.”

Felicia also believes volunteering has benefits for both the community and the individual. “It can offer social connection, new friendships – and through the act of giving, help improve your own wellbeing.”

Outside of work, Felicia loves experimenting in the kitchen. “I often test out new recipes on my guests – some have been amazing… others, not so much!”

With a passion for community, sustainability and food, Felicia is proud to support Bendigo Foodshare’s work across the region.
