Bendigo Tafe Young Parents and Senior VCE VM students spent Monday morning in the kitchen with Caroline and Ethan in a fun and colourful Cooking for Change session … and boy were they busy – learning how to make their own colourful garden focaccia bread (we think it’s art!), puff pastry savouries and sausage rolls all full of herbs and veggies to share with others for lunch. They learnt about Bendigo Foodshare and food security, used fresh herbs and vegetables, developed dough making and baking skills, practiced teamwork and enjoyed shared laughter and lunch. The students were also delighted to receive their very own potted herbs, vegetable seeds and lunch bags as gifts to take home.

This session is part of our Grow Cook Share Food Hub and has been funded by the City of Gastronomy – Bendigo and Vic health- Future Healthy- don’t the students look stylish in our new City of Gastronomy aprons?! 💚

A special thanks to Lee from Macdonalds Nursery for providing the herbs through their Grow Cook Share loyalty program and to Bendigo UFS Pharmacies for supporting our Grow a Row program.
