Decision Making Principles

  • Align Every Decision to Our Purpose – every decision must clearly advance our vision and purpose – supporting food security, community wellbeing and local resilience across Central Victoria.
  • Lead for Long Term Sustainability  – we consider the triple bottom line – social, environmental and financial – in every strategic choice, ensuring the long-term viability of our organisation and the community we serve.
  • Empower ad Reflect Our Community – we involve and listen to our community in the design and delivery of our programs. Decisions must reflect local needs and strengthen community ownership and participation.
  • Advance Equity and Inclusion – we recognise diversity and disadvantage in our region. Our decisions should actively reduce inequity and foster dignity, inclusion and fair access.
  • Collaborate for Greater Impact – we seek partnerships that share our values and amplify outcomes. Collaboration is preferred when it achieves mutual benefit and stronger results for our community.
  • Anticipate and Minimise Harm – we access risks and unintended impacts before acting. Decisions should prioritise safety, respect and positive social and environmental outcomes.
  • Use Resources Wisely – we steward our people, funds, and assets with care – making decisions that maximise value, minimise waste and ensure transparency and accountability.
