With the incredible support of our community and donors, we are thrilled to announce we have achieved our Mission Possible, raising an incredible $2.8 million! What a community! This has been made possible through the Victorian State Government’s investment of $1 million, allowing us to build a brand new food relief and community food hub at Breen Street in Golden Square.

We need YOUR help to fight food poverty

Can you imagine going home tonight and not having enough food for your hungry family?
It’s likely many of us can, having felt this even for just a minute during the pandemic … the snap lockdowns, days of panic buying, having to self isolate after a covid test … the feelings of stress, worry, uncertainty are still raw.

Thank you to our amazing Volunteers!

This week is National Volunteer Week from the 17th – 23rd May and we here at Bendigo Foodshare want to celebrate all our amazing volunteers and the work they do for us and the community!

Throughout the week we have been celebrating our volunteers achievements big and small! To say a BIG thanks, we put on lunches for our volunteers throughout the week.

Our volunteers are an extremely important part of Bendigo Foodshare, simply put, we could not do the work we do without them. From picking to packing, admin, driving, sorting fruit and veg, forklift driving,

Castlemaine Secondary College kitchens fired up for Bendigo Foodshare

The program links in with existing curriculum within the VCAL program, allowing students to meet specific outcomes from planning, preparing and cooking meals – and then contributing to community through donating the meals back to our organisation.
