Food drives are a great way to get teams and communities together whilst helping us get more food, grocery and personal items to the people who need them.

Our Community Food Drive

Bendigo Foodshare relies on donations large and small. We hold our Annual Community Food Drive for non-perishable/pantry food items each winter, to help provide food relief to those in our community who are doing it tough. In 2024 we are holding our Winter Food Drive during the month of August.

The food drive runs throughout all Bendigo supermarkets (Coles, Woolworths, IGA and Aldi) and across many local organisations for a month-long effort to fight hunger in Central Victoria. In 2024 the yellow donation bins will be placed in supermarkets across Bendigo from Friday 26 July and collected Friday 13 September.

We currently support over 80 organisations across Central Victoria who provide food relief to Central Victorians who are food insecure.

Please donate what you can in the yellow bins located at your local Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and IGA supermarkets in Bendigo.

Host a Food Drive

There are also other ways you can help – if you’re keen to join us to fight food poverty in Central Victoria, you can donate food as an individual or family, or organise a food drive collection in your school, workplace, community or sporting club.

You are welcome to organise a food drive to coincide with our annual campaign, but you are also welcome to hold your own food drive at any time of year. Get a cardboard box or plastic tub, print out our posters and stick them to the food drive bin/box/tub, and display posters so people can see them.

Bring your community together; talk to your friends, family, co-workers and customers about our work. Post on social media or include the food drive in your newsletter.
